Tummy Time!
We can't believe Laura is already three months old! She is so cute and brings us happiness every day. Just the other day we took her on a walk and we were amazed at how alertly she was looking at the trees. She also finally learned to lift up her head when she is on her tummy (a milestone I have been waiting at least a month for).
For at least the last two weeks, Laura has been sleeping miserably. She tenses and crunches herself up anytime we put her down to bed in her crib, and falling asleep takes more than an hour to get her to relax. Last night we were desperate for some sleep so we put her in the car seat instead...eight solid hours of sleep later, we all were much happier. I'm a little nervous because sleeping in the car seat is DEFINITELY not something that "the books say" is ok. But as Grandma Barb put it, there aren't any adults out there sleeping in car seats. So tonight we're starting out in the car seat instead of messing around in the crib for hours.

We've certainly used the carseat trick with Evan...don't feel bad about it. You ALL need sleep and if this is what works then go with it. Your Mom makes a great point. Take care!
A girl in my bookclub passed that same tidbit along to me (and I chant it to myself quite often)...her pediatrician told her "Your son isn't going to graduate from high school eating strained peas." At every obstacle it absolutely helps you to remember that it won't last forever! Hang in there, and I'm so glad you finally got sleep...
She is so adorable! I love her little smile. She is more and more a little person every day. Love that cute outfit in the first pic too. And congrats on the head-lifting!
I was sipping MARGARITAS for hours on end with the ladies in my knitting circle the other day on the patio of a restaurant where we like to go and degrade waiters, when in between facebook related gossip Nadine told me that babies that sleep in carseats are 32% more likely to grow up to be SERIAL KILLERS or worse HOMOSEXUALS! I told them that I have a friend who's a homosexual and I like him because he's fun to go shopping with. I also said that I have a friend who's a serial killer and I like him because he's fun to go antiquing with. My friends were SO impressed that they had to shut up for the next two hours while I talked about my recent achievements and vacations and requested various unnecessary things "on the side" from my idiot waiter.
