Good Riddance 2012
I will go on record by saying that 2012 (as a whole) was rather unkind. I am more than happy to turn the calendar page to a new year. Hello 2013!
Obviously not all was doom-and-gloom, we did welcome Ryan into the world. My little boy! That now evens our house to 2 girls and 2 boys.
Here are a few of the good and not-so-good...*Trust me, I get that most of the items on the Not-So-Good list are petty and trivial - but worth noting.
Good
- Ryan is born!
- Baptism
- First year at Ruttger's
- Does not like the plug (very good news)
- Learning to sit up, eat mush, and first teeth

- Learns to write her name
- Laura-isms (head fore, wash disher, brush hair, importment)
- Goes to swimming lessons - got better towards the end...sort of.
- Doesn't cry at daycare drop off anymore
- Dumps Dora for PRINCESS admiration (Rapunzel)
- Loving Mom and both kids - enjoy watching them learn and grow
- Hello Toyota Sienna!
- Finished a lot of house projects (painting, recarpeting, sodding backyard, chopping tree roots, staining deck, and resurfacing the driveway)
- Had family pictures taken and hung them on the wall
- Someone we know shared some very exciting news!
- Papa George and Grandma Nells moves into new house
- Mom successfully finished first year at new school and new grade
- New living room flat screen TV
- Golfing really well
Not-So-Good
- Health? Umm, not much to brag about here...
- Mom on bedrest, out of work
- Ryan's early arrival and two-week NICU stay
- Ryan's head deformation issues
- Great-grandpa Teig's health
- Gama Barb foot
- Uncle Scott W.'s Appendix
- Appliance Breakdowns
- water heater
- garbage disposal
- sump pump
- oven
- coffee maker
- Storms and Destruction
- Storm knocks over tree in front yard

- Retired the Civic. Goodbye BAB/GUA!
- Papa George and Grandma Nells sells their house
- Poor Stock Investment choices :(
With all that said, we are still alive and very happy...and that's what counts, right!?!

here is to better health and working appliances in 2013...and fewer natural disasters. MOSTLY to better health!
Cheers to that, Ms. Lexi!
